Doing something amazing!

Recently I became aware of Drew Manning, a crazy but brave personal trainer here in Utah who gained 70 pounds - SEVENTY - to empathize with the overweight and to show that you really can have incredible transformation in your life if you decide to make the necessary changes. You can check out his website http://www.fit2fat2fit.com and you can find him on facebook https://www.facebook.com/fit2fat2fit/info.

Doing something like that takes incredible mental toughness. Especially when you go that far to the other spectrum. It's not like gaining 15lbs or 20lbs, where you can always come back from that. When you go as far as he did, not only is there a lot of work to do, but it's also more difficult to come back because your body is just not the same. Props to Drew for achieving such a feat and inspiring tens of thousands to do the same. Visit his facebook page and see how many people are turning and making serious physical changes and improvements. You can also see how far he really went, that's self-commitment. It's awesome. I can only hope to one day be able to inspire and influence as many people as he has, and motivate them to improve their lives.

Running for me is not just an adventure of physical curiosity and discovery, but also a mental challenge and exercise to prove that if you dominate your mind, you can get any results you want. Running just happened to meet 2 of my main immediate goals: Trim down and develop mental toughness. I've always known running is one of the best and easiest ways to trim down - it definitely proved that way with me. Also, in doing something I've always detested, even its very thought, I'd be imposing on my mind and not the other way around. If you can dominate your mind in one area, you can do it in another. Eventually you find yourself being able to do anything because you know that you can do the same to any challenge that comes your way.

You can do with any part of your life. I suggest running because it's inexpensive, simple and all you need are some shoes (don't need to get fancy, really) and ground. Get in shape, get a good work out for your body and your mind. Get the natural stimulants going in your system. Getting out there and getting winded is not the most desirable thing to do, but it is so good for you. Hey trust me, if I can do it, and if it works for me; it'll work for anyone and anyone can do it. Especially you. Before you know it, you too will have your own transformation story. And it could be that the transformation you go through is more mental than physical, and it could be that because of this transformation a lot of awesome things come to your life. If that is the case, aren't you going to be happy you got moving?
